Freek van Til

Freek leads VBDO’s international stewardship and shareholder engagement work, focusing on collaborative investor initiatives that address environmental and social risks in global value chains. He coordinates multi investor engagements, including the Investor Initiative on Responsible Nickel Supply Chains, and supports investors in translating sustainability risks into effective stewardship strategies.

His work focuses on nature and biodiversity loss, responsible mining, and human rights, with particular attention to the rights of Indigenous Peoples and local communities. He joined VBDO in 2022 and holds a master’s degree in International Development Studies and Anthropology, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Communications.
